Last week we had three separate friends stop over for a visit and I enjoyed lighting our cherry blossom candle, setting up a place for drinks, and baking some delicious snacks for them.
I tend to hesitate on having people over because this place is never perfect and as much as I try to keep up with the housework there is a little man running behind me pulling everything out of its place.
I did open this place up last week and had a great time catching up with old friends and one new friend, in the comfort of our home.

There isn’t a mold for hospitality that we women can neatly fit into. We were created unique and each of us comes with great ideas. What feels right to me may not be your cup of tea. That’s okay!
Hospitality is showing kindness to your guest and welcoming people into your life.
If you want to set up a table of food go for it!
I like to sip on something warm while chatting with a friend.
I also love knowing what my guest likes so I can prepare something that makes them feel special. One friend is a fruit eater while the other loves a good taco dip!

I actually enjoy sticking an apron on, whipping up some banana bread, and sitting down over a cup of coffee! I don’t love those things because that is what a host is meant to look like. It’s something I enjoy. Not for everyone though!
Here are some other ideas:
- Meet-up for a pottery class
- exercise class
- movie night {popcorn and something cool to drink}
- Crotchet, sew, craft together
- Road Trip!
I know how great it is to receive a card, meal, or encouraging text from a friend. I want to be able to do that for the people who come into my life.
It’s wonderful to have friends to do life with. Yes, there is a risk in loving people because they are sure to let you down as you will let them down but it’s worth it because;
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work; If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up.

Hospitality is being welcoming and natural. If the house and you are perfect there is no hospitality cause it put visitors on edge. There has to be a happy mid range of welcoming and you seem to have it dear girl. Love you.

Very sweet post. I think a messy house can be welcoming when the hostess is welcoming. Then the home is filled with love and life and that can translate to your guests.

This speaks straight to my heart! I really struggle in this area. I want to open my home but hesitate because of a messy house, busy schedule, etc. I need to just put the invite out there and enjoy the company of friends.
