Oh sweet boy..
It’s Mother’s Day and all yesterday you were saying, ‘happy mothers!’ It was sweet and made me smile so much.
You are an amazing boy.
It took me 3 years to feel comfortable in this mom skin, but I’m loving it. I was terrified those first few months but thankfully God placed incredible people in my life to encourage me along the way.
I want you to know this; I don’t regret not choosing a vocation outside of the home in these younger years of yours. I will never regret that.
Yes, I have dreams and I hope that you’ll understand dreaming is important but people should always take a higher priority over chasing after higher achievements.
I pray that God would teach you a balance between the two.
As a mom who is full-time at home I’ve realized right now, for us, this has been important. God pressed me to be present in your life at this time as a stay-at-home mom and not to pursue some other dreams. I’m trusting His plan and realizing that I don’t want to be anywhere else because these years are going by in a flash and our time won’t go on forever like this.
I have never been bored spending my time on you. You’re funny, adventurous, curious, kind-hearted, and I’m glad to be a part of your life.
I love our adventures and hope that when you look back on these years, you’ll remember them fondly.
When I think about what I’m trying to teach you, it’s that you would love God with all your heart and have a heart full of compassion for others. {I’m still figuring this one out myself!}
You’re a gift and I thank God for you!

I hope all of you Moms have enjoyed your special day. Isn’t it fun to have a day like this? I so enjoyed reading through all the kind words people had to say about their mothers. It was a reminder of the importance of our role and how big of an impact we have on our children.
This weekend Darren and Garrett treated me to an iced tea maker and a new toaster! I also took most of Saturday to go have my hair done.
I went with highlights for the first time and it was such a great experience. I loved the hair cut and tried to snap some pictures but they don’t do the color justice. Maybe I could try again this week because she really did such a neat job!
To the women out there who want to be a mother but are unable to right now. I prayed specifically for you today. Days like today can be really tough but know you’re being thought of and not forgotten.
I have a post written up that will hopefully go up this week to explain my month-long absence!
Until next time,
Laura
