Hello Friends!
We’re having a blast since coming out of hibernation after a long winter!
I heard it snowed around us this morning, but I didn’t see it, therefore I refuse to let this bother me. : )
Anyways, even though most of our time is spent at home we have enjoyed long walks, time at the park with friends, and other various activities. I hope you are enjoying this Spring too.
Time with Garrett has been wonderful. Our days are full of energy, laughter, reminders of God’s grace, and silly conversations. I’m grateful that God has allowed me to be Garrett’s mom.
We had a blast at the Mother-Son Date Knight put on by our local Chick-fil-A! There were balloons made, a cool shield to be drawn on, and yummy food to eat! It was just great spending time with Garrett doing something out of the ordinary for us.
Garrett’s balloon cracked me up! Unfortunately it popped as soon as we stepped out of the car.

Today the Fleet and Family Services and our neighborhood center put on a Military Spouse appreciate brunch.
It was fabulous!
I loved meeting other spouses and learning about a few resources to help us plug into our new area, as a military family. I didn’t pack the camera on accident but did snap one photo at home with the rose they gave us on our way out. It was encouraging to listen to a couple older spouses share an encouraging word with us.
Okay, one more thing from our week!
Yesterday Garrett and I baked a cake! It was a lot of fun and nothing too fancy.

Well actually it was a little fancy for us! Baking with kids is something I actually really enjoy. I can see how special that time is to them and it’s fun to mix and pour. : )

* * *
As much as I have longed to see our family grow for the last year and nine months, I’ve recently experienced a peace with our situation.
There is nothing wrong with being disappointed if you are dealing with infertility. It’s hard stuff!
Allowing yourself to hope each month, only to be met with a sense of loss when you discover you’re not expecting another child is discouraging.
This verse above was carefully put up on our little white-board. I believe it and have preached this to myself a lot over the last few weeks.
It’s amazing how God takes a weary heart and strengthens it. The only thing that changed was my perspective and understanding that God is with me, has a greater plan, and means for my good and His glory.
I’m resting in that truth today!
Hope that you had a great week and enjoy the weekend!
Until next time,
