Military Spouse Friendships

friendships

I cannot even imagine where I would be today were it not for that handful of friends who have given me a heart full of joy. Let’s face it, friends make life a lot more fun.

As a part of the military spouse community i’ve discovered though we’re a giant melting pot of personalities, we each bring something amazing to the table.
Ourselves.  Each unique in our own ways.

We balance each other out and you girls know how to love each other well! Yes, there may have been moments we were lousy to one another but please accept some grace today.  The bond between military wives can’t be put into words, I won’t even try right now!

I can’t offer a perfect formula on how to make a friend, keep a friend, or be the best friend.
I know how important my military spouse friends are and how they have been the glue holding me together over the last 3 years.
They are each special to me as are you!

That’s why I keep coming back to this blog.  I want to see that you’re doing alright too.  This military spouse role isn’t always easy!
So, no formulas to offer but how about we round-up a few ideas to love our sweet sisters in the coming year?
God knows we all love to be cheered up and who better to do that then us?

4 ways to cheer her up:

1.Take Time to Listen

Invite her over or out to a coffee shop and as tempting as it is to share your own struggles, listen to her this time.  It will bless her to have time to share and let her know she’s important to you.

2.Give a Gift

Surprise her with a one of these hand-made gifts under $5. The closer you become
the more you’ll discover what she likes. It’s always sweet to receive a gift that shows
someone thought of you.

3.Send a Card

Reassure her through kind words. Let her know how important she is and what you admire about her. Everyone loves to open the mailbox and see a card with their name written on it!

4.Have a Girls Night

Invite a couple of friends over to share a meal, watch a movie, and catch up.  It will be a treat for everyone to get out and spend some time together.  There are endless possibilities for girl’s nights!  {Children are welcome to camp out for the evening}

Hope you enjoyed this list!

What are a few ways you have been loved well by your friends?
