This constant overcast lately has put me in a very sleepy mood. I told Darren that it feels like all my energy is zapped but maybe it’s because I go to bed late every night? I like to think it’s the weather because i’m not ready to give up my late evenings!
Today my mother-in-law, Garrett, and I were able to get out for a walk and it was wonderful! I needed some fresh air and even though the air was cool it was good to bask in the sunlight.
After Christmas comes i’m ready for warmth and sunshine, but here in the Midwest winter isn’t even close to being over! I’m thinking a trip to visit my sister-in-law in Arizona would be perfect! ![]()

Garrett has enjoyed playing in the snow but sometimes I get lazy with letting him go out. It takes so much energy to put on all that clothing and he lasts about 10-15 minutes. It’s still good for him though.
Darren and I might go see a movie and I’m really hoping we do. I sure do love spending time with him! Right now he has about three movies he’d like to see so i’m not sure which one we’ll go to. I would love to see, ‘Frozen’ because it looked super cute but these boys aren’t very interested.
Today I went online to look up preschool information. As I was researching a bit I stopped and couldn’t imagine Garrett old enough for this. I haven’t even talked to Darren about this so he may read it here first! (Sounds great, right Darren?) A few people have recommended getting him into one, even for a small amount of time a week. I think it would be good for him but it’s something to pray about for now. I just can’t believe my baby will be three!
Also, has anyone else been eating way too much? We have been around too much delicious food and I’ve not been practicing any portion control. I will jump right on the new years resolution weight loss bandwagon. I had done very well until thanksgiving and then it all went downhill!
What is your favorite movie night snack since it’s not new years and I’m still indulging!
Enjoy the rest of your evening!
Laura

I have not been indulging as I don’t like the feeling with high sugars. But, I sure am tired from all the traveling although this week end to Wisconsin was a snap comapred to last weekend..
Good job! I admire how you are more careful and I’m sure it doesn’t feel great with high sugars. I hope you’re resting a little now. Those trips get harder to make but it was so great to see you.
Totally overindulging here! Just can’t pass up home made comfort foods…I think it is rude to pass on things I know someone made with love – if only my jeans would be more understanding! Next time you are in town, I want to steal you for a few hours and grab some coffee;-)
As for the preschool thing, everybody has an opinion…here’s mine! I did not send my older daughter to preschool but we had a Y membership and she took a weekly class choosing between swimming, gymnastics or ballet as well as played t. ball and attending day camp in the summer. Then we moved and did not renew our membership, so my younger daughter went to preschool 3 mornings a week. Both had great experiences. We also were faithful to storyhour at the library each week during those years as well. Now they are in a large elementary school (about 700 kids) and flourishing…..but I don’t think it had anything to do with whether or not they went to preschool – just that they had an active toddlerhood filled with adventure and not hours of endless tv. Getting off my soap box now – to go eat a Christmas cookie…..Happy New Year Laura! Oh – Frozen is awesome – my husband loved it too! Popcorn, Pepsi and Peanut M&M’s….since we are still indulging!
