This last weekend Darren and I spent a night away, just the two of us. It was much-needed and we’re thankful that his parents offered to watch Garrett.
It was fun to hear about Garrett’s week with them and it sounded like they all had a great time! It was an added bonus to spend that weekend with my husband.
The picture above would be lovely in any other season i’m sure but I wasn’t expecting a spectacular view.

We decided to eat at the hotel restaurant and each of us ordered a cheeseburger. It was super fancy and way too big! I didn’t even know how to eat it and we were both too full to finish everything.
We also ate at their buffet for breakfast but I left my camera in the room. They gave us a table right next to the fireplace and the view was really nice actually.
I really enjoyed spending time with Darren alone. He is such a wonderful guy and the way he loves me is amazing. He gives me space to sound ridiculous, extends more grace than anyone I know, and has patience that leaves me speechless. I’m so glad that it’s him who I spend each day with.
Well I am feeling refreshed as a mother and on this Monday Garrett is napping at 11am and after he wakes up we’re going to color, watch a few shows, and play with play dough!
It’s kind of a shock to my system but we’re easing back into our day-to-day normal. I’m also detoxing from a week of junk food, how come it is so easy to put weight on but losing it takes sooo much work? I don’t see that as very fair. : )
Until next time,

It’s always easy to gain weight and next to impossible to lose the weight. I can’t stand that fact at all!
It’s always good when a couple takes time to go out and spend time by themselves! We all need a break from the realities of life for sure. I love that view too!

I like that, ‘Next to Impossible’. haha
It’s easy to push aside that needed time alone because you do get involved with your own things but it was good to have that time away.
I’m going to have to check out your blog Crystal because I didn’t see you had one before!
