Sometimes we’re allowed to scoot around circumstances and bypass what would have caused heartache.
We’re relieved!
We breath in deep with thankful hearts as our hand falls on the chest in relief.
Yet sometimes we aren’t able to go around.
We have to go through.
It’s in the going through that God prepares, teaches, and humbles us.
I had been holding out hope that He would allow us to go around this deployment.
It’s not looking good.
I’m beginning to accept!
I was laying on my bed last night listening to Selah’s ‘Greatest Hymns’ and speaking to God about what was coming.
My eyes focused on the newest tiny christmas tree on our night stand. I remembered something that happened earlier.
~~
I was finishing a walk deep in thought when I looked up to my favorite little tree in front of our house and saw some leaves barely hanging on dangling in the air.
It looked a little helpless!
The bitter cold is coming and soon this tree will stand bare.
But I know what happened last spring, it came back and grew beautiful buds that bloomed and blessed all spring and summer and fall.
I’m feeling like that tree now. Only a few leaves still dangling but barely holding on.
I don’t like to expose weakness but this season will show it at times.
As a young military spouse I have a lot to learn!
I’ve been gathering wisdom from other woman and preparing my heart for the coming year. I won’t come to this place and pretend with you. I am hurting at the thought of my best friend leaving. I cried last night when Garrett stood at the door saying, ‘Daddy, go?’.
I’m not mad about this, i’m just uncertain of how to be an example of Christ in the midst of it all.
I don’t know what you’re having to go through but if you’ll trust Him, this is not for nothing.
He can deal with our honesty and replace it with hope found only in Him.
I know that trials bring us close to Him, for that I’m thankful!

Laura, my heart is sad for you. I know that must be so, so hard. Praying for strength for you.
