Our little Garrett isn’t so little anymore. On Tuesday we celebrated his 3rd Birthday!
I’ve decided that this is the last shedding of the baby boy image.
That’s bittersweet but with all my sappy reflecting the other day I realized how nice it has been to watch him grow.
In the last three years God has used parenting to reveal exactly what’s going on in my heart, the good and the terrible.
I absolutely love my child and am still learning how to accept the reality that motherhood isn’t as easy and I thought it would be. 
I will say that the joy that I carried through out my pregnancy has swept into the last three years in a way I never expected.

Garrett is such a precious child to me and I am thankful for the way God has blessed our family with his life.
While looking over pictures and watching old videos of him I was feeling sentimental and very thankful! We have created some wonderful memories to look back on!

Garrett is potty training and on week 2! He has done so well and we’re really proud of him. Those first 4 days were difficult and we had a frustrated child.
There were plenty of accidents to wipe up but this week he isn’t having any issues and hasn’t had a problem at nap time/nighttime. I thought we would be working on that for a long time. There are different ways to approach potty training but I’m glad we waited a little longer.
So many of you posted great advice for me on the Facebook page and I wanted to say thank you! I appreciated hearing from you.

Yay for potty training! Glad you waited a bit, too. Boys usually need to be a teeny bit older in order to have a more positive outcome. I think being able to articulate their bathroom needs is pretty important for little guys. The fact that little girls can kinda sit there and let gravity take over makes it all a matter of just knowing your child well enough to know what is right for him or her.
Love the pics of little Garrett….he’s grown up SO much!!! Now he’s at that really fun stage…talkative, exploring, and he WILL surprise you at every turn with his perspective on things, moreso the older he gets.
Hoping this winter weather is treating you all well on that side of the lake. WE are getting a wee bit weary of the cold-wind-snow-warm-tease-freeze-wind-snow-cold cycle…LOL!
