I love beautiful things!
The tall mountains, deep canyons, water that goes far beyond sight, little chubby cheeks smiling big, and anything that reminds me of how good God is.
It absolutely amazes me when God does have my attention. His glory goes beyond my words and His love overwhelms.
As a mom I have learned that if I kneel to my son’s level and say, ‘Garrett, give me your eyes’ I’ll have his attention.
The other day when I rose back up it dawned on me, our exchange was similar to what God has done many times in my life.
I’ve wandered off before, losing focus on the purpose God has for my life. Then I wind up discouraged or discontent but still wondering why.
But our God is so good and in the same way I take my son’s small face into each palm and say, ‘Give me you eyes’ I believe God does the same.
Right now it’s tough to really know where to look for truth in a culture that says anything goes, or even in the body of Christ that is divided in as many ways as you can think of.
But I’m realizing that in studying the word of God, my attention will always be captured by Truth. A truth that allows me to look into my Heavenly Father’s eyes and hear His voice.
If He has our eyes then He will have our hearts. Which is exactly what is needed to really love Him and other people.

We have enjoyed time with friends this week! God has surrounded us with new friends since moving here and I have loved getting to know each of them.
Yesterday we met a friend at the park, went for a walk, enjoyed frozen yogurt and good conversation!

On our walk there was this awesome train set-up that our boys really enjoyed looking at. How cool is this!?

I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Thanks for stopping in and reading what I write, it has always meant a lot to me to have people come back and spend some of their time with me. : )
Until next time,

Hi Laura I love that train set up. No doubt it captured the boys imaginations too.
And I enjoy reading your blog. HAve a good week too
