I started a new bible study that my mom gave us girls for Christmas. It’s Beth Moore’s ‘Jesus’ study and i’m really looking forward to the days ahead.
I’m even keeping everything organized with the tote my sister gave me!

Finishing Esther last week had me eager to pick up a new book of the bible and for some reason Daniel continued to come to mind so this morning was spent in God’s word and I loved it.
I haven’t been feeling good lately and am hesitating to join into a new community. I am nervous to try a new church, take a walk in this new neighborhood (scared of looking ridiculous), and meeting new friends. These are the things i’m praying over that i’d stop doubting myself and start to trust where God has brought us.
Darren is working evenings and I haven’t seen much of him. We have actually spent about 2 hours together a day and I miss him. (With only a small amount of that time catching up)
This was no accident that we find ourselves here but I can’t brush off the fact that all this change is hard. I am tired of starting over and am ready to settle in for awhile. I envy people who are able to make plans 6 months in advance, no make that 2 weeks in advance!
Our family is stretched thin with Darren working the next 18 days straight. How he manages to keep a good attitude is a constant source of encouragement for me.
It’s by God’s grace that we are growing closer but that doesn’t reduce the stress on our family.
I think that right now going through this I am questioning God’s will but when we come out on the other side I will be able to look back and see exactly where His hand was in this. I am thankful for my faith and the way Jesus steadies the heart.
So for now i’m reciting the words of Jesus,
Luke 22:42
“Father, if you are willing take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”
Not my will, but yours be done Lord.
Have you ever found yourself hesitating to go with God’s plan?
Laura

Hi Laura, first I want to start off by saying thank you so much for making this blog. You have been a true inspiration. I just wanted to remind you that God works everything together for our good. I know this is a difficult time, but when I face times like this, I take a journey down memory lane and let God show me how He worked in the other new stages of my life. It helps me get excited for what he has in store for me. Praying that you will stay in God’s rest.
I have absolutely found myself hesitating to go with God’s plan! We are missionaries in St. Kitts and our work will be done by the end of this year. We weren’t planning on considering “what’s next” until the Summer but the Lord brought three opportunities to us before January was over! We tried putting it off but we know it’s not an accident we had 3 different positions offered to us with a few weeks of each other. We know we need to make a decision NOW. I can’t imagine everything changing so quickly… I’m sure that is unbelievably hard! But it’s also kind of strange for us to be deciding now what we will be doing in over a year. Like it’s “too much” of a plan or something… it doesn’t seem real because it’s so far away. But it IS real and it will be a huge decision for our family (we are deciding whether to work at home in America or go overseas again, and this time for 4 years).
Beth Moore is awesome. I’ve never done the study you are doing but I just love all of her studies!
I feel the same way! My husband is in the Air Force and we are still stuck at the same base.I have few friends that I consider “friends” and am really struggling with being here even after 4 years. It worse that I am a very introverted person and going to a new church or joining a military wives fellowship on base terrifies me as wives I have met in the past have let me down. My husbands works 12 hour nights and it just stinks! Trusting in the Lord is something that I really struggling with when I’m hurting but I’m working on it, always working on it. I KNOW he has good things in store but I also know my time is not His time.
Krysti,
Thank you for sharing all of this! I could go into a novel writing back to you but simply said, I understand.
I hope that in the coming weeks you do find some comfort in this season. My husband is currently on that same night shift as your husband and to be honest it is a struggle! You are not alone if how you feel.
I think it’s wonderful that you are being honest about these struggles that so many go through alone.
Glad to have you around this blog community!
Laura
