because your phone is going to break the night he leaves..

I remember reading a post about military wives never saying goodbye only, “see you later”. I remember thinking oh no i think we say goodbye!
There isn’t a perfect formula to being a military wife.  There is no one woman who has it figured out, don’t let her fool you.

And if you can’t seem to find an example of a military wife learning as she goes, go no further than here. :)
I took the liberty to cry the other night because watching your baby boy snuggle his dad before that big guy walks out the door is heartbreaking.
Give yourself the time to work through circumstances that aren’t normal.

because your phone is going to break the night he leaves
your children will surprise you by either being complete angels or you know grouchy as can be
you may try to swallow the lump in your throat or ignore the pit in your stomach but they don’t go away so do it..

have a good hard cry (feel sorry for yourself!)

But
(you knew i wouldn’t let you stay there!)

Be ready to stand back up, get off the couch, and live life!
He is supposed to come home every night and when the house feels empty don’t settle, open your doors and invite a friend over, have dinner parties, and don’t stop living.

Today I don’t want to talk.
I want to be really quiet and not think about the next year.  I don’t want to put on a brave face for anyone but then there’s this little toddler who isn’t waiting, he is learning how to go up and down the stairs, he is discovering bugs, and loves to run.
Life doesn’t stop when your man walks out for a time.
No it keeps moving and we have to find a way to keep going with it.

No, it won’t feel the same when they are away and some days will be downright difficult but trust that God called you and I here.
Trust Him.

For today that’s all i can muster up, but i want to be real with you and don’t want you to worry!
We are going to figure out this new normal together.

So will you learn to embrace this life you’re called to?

:)

But i would LOVE your prayers.

You and I are still going to kick off this ‘Get Moving Series’ tomorrow morning and you’ll have four encouraging posts this month (once a week) sharing a bit of real life experience and a compilation of what’s working in this area.  I know how great this will be and although its nothing fancy, i’m good with simple this month!
