The word safe means protected from danger or risk, and not likely to be harmed.
When I think of the word safe, immediately my mother comes to mind.  How I wish you have a safe place too.

I don’t look at her as perfect but I know that I believe she can do no wrong.  She’s my mom and I love her.
Today I was exhausted from this boy-mom calling. (I even asked if God was sure he picked the right girl for this job!)
My mom was able to reassure me over the phone, from what seems like an endless amount of miles away.
I left the conversation feeling much better and confident in this role as Garrett’s mom.  Toddler tantrums are exhausting yes, but God gives me strength to make the right decisions and where I fall short His grace has covered me.

I was sitting on the couch after folding this last load of laundry thinking about how much I love Garrett.  Earlier he was helping me push the clothes into the dryer and later snuggled on my lap while we read a book before bed.  He hugged me tight after a most unpleasant tantrum that landed him in the corner but his, ‘sorry’ made me smile.  I guess that i’m not perfect at this mom thing but I will always be his safe place.  God has given me a love for my son that keeps going on and on and no matter what he does or how frustrated I become with him.  It’s a love that can’t be taken away.

What brings me to silence is knowing my heavenly father’s love is similar but so much more than I can comprehend.  He leaves me unharmed and always protected no matter what.

If you’re exhausted from being a mom, well I get you, but I hope you find some time to rest today in the truth that you are covered by God’s grace.
