Chasing Blue Skies is one of my favorite blogs.
Probably because Kristen is one of my favorite people.

I’m a young military spouse called into a role that I never dreamed of.
It’s hard folks.
Never will I pretend to make it sweet when i’m struggling.

But Kristen is full of wisdom.
She has been a military spouse for longer than I and is trustworthy.
She responds to comments and emails and that’s comforting.  To know you matter, that she’d take the time to respond even though she has a lot on her plate.

She has taught me a lot this last year about marriage, being a mother, and how to cultivate better friendships.
I tuck away her wisdom and God uses it to bring me closer to Him.

You will be sweetly blessed through her posts.
So write this one down!

My favorite series of posts she had done was actually on friendships.
I’d been struggling with hurt in relationships and God used those words to remind me how friends can’t fill what only Christ was meant to fill.  I learned how to love from a distance, and start accepting friends for who they are and not what I wanted them to be.
Here is one of the posts that I refer back to from time to time.

{25 ways to be a friend}
Friendships are such a blessing, but sometimes we really do have to be the one that steps out of our comfort zone to make a friend.

    Laura darling, you bless me beyond words by welcoming me to your beautiful place. What a sweet soul you are! Thank you for encouraging my own heart, and for standing with me in this military life. You are a gem! Hugs and love, friend.
