I’m going to be straight-forward with you.

Two weeks ago I decorated for Christmas.

You know the person everyone is griping about? The one who forgets about the holiday in-between Halloween and Christmas?  What’s it called again?

Yes, that person who drives certain people crazy, is me! I’m embarrassed and excited to admit that but I love the twinkling of a home decked out for the Holidays.

I didn’t mean for it to happen.  I was simply removing the boxes from the storage shed to see what sort of decorations we had and then some of them slipped into place.  Next thing I knew the fall decor was removed and it was very festive in our home! I blame love for Christmas.

 

At our local store I filled a cart with Christmas decorations and the cashier smiled at me.  Can a cart be anymore beautiful then when it is filled with red bows, marshmallows, hot cocoa, holiday lights, and an assortment of other Christmas items?

I even improved my handwriting! This was fun to sketch up…

This next picture doesn’t do the display justice, but it’s really beautiful in the evenings!

My mom helped me come up with this idea for my small village.  She is so creative!

I enjoy this time of year (There I go again forgetting it’s not even December!) and thinking about cherished childhood memories.  It’s fun to create new traditions for our family and celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior.

We are looking forward to Thanksgiving and spending it with our family.  Giving thanks is something we do throughout the year but it’s good to set aside time to remind ourselves of all that God has given us. The same goes for Christmas.  I think about the birth of Jesus throughout the year but it’s special to have a marked time to celebrate the importance of His arrival into our broken world.

I wish that you could come over so we could sip some hot chocolate and thank God for beautiful twinkling lights!
