I spent the entire week laying very low. {I mean laying on the couch} It’s been awful and I don’t remember the last time I was so sick.
The other night I read the thermometer and thought it was broken. 103
That felt like death. I texted my nurse sister and continued to slip the thermometer into my mouth every couple of minutes. Then before I could read what she said I passed out, as a result of the NyQuil.
That medicine was wonderful! It let me rest a few hours and then at 4 in the morning I woke up sweating to death.
Quickly after that the second wind of this sickness kicked in with the cough/cold and it really has all felt awful. Or maybe I’m a little wimpy when it comes to getting sick?
To top that off I made the mistake of working out earlier in the week when I thought the sickness was all over. Oh..it had only just begun!
I was lifting weights and doing all sorts of fun moves on my exercise ball. My entire body ached from sore muscles and then you know that achy feeling which takes over when you’re sick? It was miserable.
Darren was really sweet and took great care of me. He even took out Garrett’s doctor kit and gave me a check-up. I think laughter is the best medicine and I’m really blessed to have him as my husband.
Saturday morning I was still sick but we desperately needed food because we were out of everything and so I bundled up and went to the store and tried not to cough on anyone and used plenty of hand sanitizer.
It took me forever but I made it home and collapsed back into my well-worn spot on the couch.
The crazy part was little Garrett spent yesterday morning and this morning throwing up. There is nothing more sweet than a Dad rubbing his son’s back while he’s throwing up. I took care of the mess and Darren rushed Garrett back and forth.
I thought for sure that I’d be better this morning but no, I was still miserable. At 4 in the morning I was on the couch watching, ‘I Love Lucy’ and did you know that is my favorite show? It makes me laugh so hard.
Darren wouldn’t let me go to church this morning and I’m glad he stood in the way. I wouldn’t want anyone else to get sick.
I’m glad we found a church filled with people I miss if we can’t make it. <3
Even though I felt like a lousy wife and mother this week I’m grateful that Garrett was well behaved and Darren was extra helpful.
Sorry for all the sick talk but I wanted to let you know where I’ve been all week! I surely missed this community.
This week I have a lot of catching up to do and a birthday party to plan for Garrett!

He is going to be 3 years old and I can’t believe it. All mothers say this, but it’s hard to fully understand how fast the time will go. My baby is turning 3 and it feels like only yesterday he was itty bitty!
I’ve loved it all.
I hope you had a fantastic weekend and are in good health! I am returning to my spot for hopefully the last night of being sick.
Until next time,

It is so great that your man was there for you! God has truly blessed you and even tho you might not feel the greatest version of yourself right now I am sure your man loves doing every little bit that has and can for you and loves you all the more for being sick you~
I found a lump… In my neck last night…
I nearly hit the floor in fright! But my man just held my hand and said “its ok, we will watch it and go to the doctor if it does not go away, hey maybe its just a mosquito bite… don’t worry!”
The next two days might just be the most worried I have been in a long while; but with God in my Life and my man to hold my hand I know it’ll be just fine.
I Pray that you feel 100% you soon~
God Bless~
I hope this comment finds you feeling better by now and well on your way to preparing for that birthday party. Yes, our kids do grow up fast. It’s hard for any parent to wrap their head around how quickly their kids grow up (at least us women feel that way. My husband seems to be counting down until they reach the age of independence.)
