Happy Apple Days!

The Happy Apple Days of September are here!

I love this time of year, I love it so much.
But today its 90 degrees here, yet I know that somewhere the air was crisp and the trees have begun to change.
:)
And even if i can’t be there, it’s still welcomed in my home today!

I mean yes its hot but in here we are making an ‘autumn’ banner, and we have fall leaf stickers on the window, and there is a candle going in the other room, and a happy toddler is carrying apples around.  Seriously that picture is for real, this crazy mom put them at his level! what was i thinking?!
Oh yeah, that I love fall! (and apples)

I have two things to share today with you that hopefully will be of some encouragement!

1.

I tell a lot of people that I’m going to pray for them.  When i say that at the time i file it away and believe in my heart that i’ll get to it when God and I talk later.
But something always happens, the nights turn a bit crazy and by the time my head hits the pillow i start to lift words to God…then its morning!
Am I the only one?

Then when i see that friend there is this tinge of guilt because i want to say that i’ve been praying hard for them!
This should be a priority.
Well I picked up a cute notebook the other week and started using it this last week as a prayer journal.

Its simple.
Write down who you’re praying for and the requests.

Last night as i was reading over a page it struck a cord of joy.
It reminded me that I couldn’t be lonely at the same time I was communicating with my heavenly father.
I encourage you to grab some paper and start jotting down prayers for your friends!

2.

I say this a lot

“God can love me because of Jesus”

This is true, and its incredible how Jesus did take our place on the cross.  But so often i take myself out of the picture and leave it at I am no good.
Last night I was spending some time in God’s word when the thought came

“Laura, God loved you so much that he sent Jesus to die for you.  Yes you were sinful but its by his love that he rescued you.”
Then the quote by C.S. lewis crossed my mind:

We are dearly loved by our God.
He died for us while we were sinners, knowing all that we would do to hurt him.

He knit you together in your mother’s womb.

Sometimes these common phrases can be somewhat of a broken record not really penetrating the soul, but for me last night this broke through some layers and meant a whole lot!
I may not feel lovable because lets face it i’m a bit sensitive, care too much about other’s opinions, and have a lazy bone i keep too active, but even in all of my imperfections and sinful heart,

He loves us dearly.

Be encouraged by that today friend!

Headed out to take our walk soon :).
Can’t wait to meet back up this Saturday!

  1. I know what you mean about praying for people! I too often try pray before sleeping only to say “Amen” in the morning! Good advise about the notebook. Thank you!
