being home!
Home brewed coffee with loads of french vanilla creamer, music bouncing off the walls, and me in a happy place.
In the last few years i’ve known home to be a few different places, my parents home, base housing, sister in law’s home, an apartment, and now rental home!
This beautiful home is wonderful and cozy.
Although i’m limited to how I fix it up, i’m over-joyed with what I have been able to do.
I wish you could come over for an afternoon so we could sit on my spray painted plastic chairs. You wouldn’t even notice until you sat down and stuck to the chair :).
Brace yourself for this…

I am not even going to fake a perfect home for you.
This was after moving in and being one exhausted momma! The home came last. (sorry home!)

But there’s good news!
I really tried hard to fix this place up and make it a beautiful space for us. No worries the mirror is finally hung.
I had a blast decorating but seriously its not a talent of mine at all.
I can’t seem to visualize on my own how a room really comes together. Can I please borrow Layla or The Nester for an afternoon to learn from?
I am more of a work in the yard kind of girl, learning the hard way!
I was trimming back a shrub and over trimmed. Can’t bear to take pictures because it’s too embarrassing, you’d laugh.
Are you a natural in the yard or do you leave that to your husband?
Weeding, mowing the lawn, and planting flowers is cheap therapy for me :).
I have learned this last year not to take this place for granted. It was a God-given gift and blessing so I make sure to thank him often for it.
I’m brought to tears when I really think about how finding this place came together.
I prayed for a beautiful home in the midst of our crazy military life and he saw it fitting to lead us here.
He cares for us in the small ways and its one of the neatest things about our God.
I hope that whatever you call home that you have learned to love it and make it your own.

Around the house Tips and Tricks
In this area we are having some serious fly issues! I have been around the house with a fly swatter but if you’re anything like I am..A bad swatter! It can be frustrating. Well today my neighbor gave me some great advice! To use windex or glass cleaner and spray them. Genius! It honestly works..1-2 sprays and they start moving in slow motion and are no match for us. :)
They have been collecting by windows so i have also been able to wipe down the windows, two things off my to do list!
What do you think? Sounds a bit crazy, right?
HA HA!!! Just a tad crazy, but hey if it works go for it! I mean it could get messy :) You could always hang those ugly fly sticky tapes up!
Angela, you’re cracking me up! You know I have squicky clean windows today and not so many flies. It must just be me that can’t swat a fly?? I still think this is genius :)
lol this is what I do! The summer is brining in so many flies and bugs and I squirt them to death.
Victoria, I am so stink’n happy to hear you do this too! I can’t believe how many flies we’re having around here but discovering this trick made it easier to kill them! Isn’t it fun?? I don’t know if they have been migrating near the windows for you but we have some super clean windows this summer!

Yes hey are all over the windows! I am going to do some serious, serious, cleaning today. I hate bugs in my house! Another reason I don’t have any animals. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog. I appreciate it. I am enjoying yours as well. Staying connected through FB has made it a lot easier to see all of your recent posts. I love that!
I am considering going over to wordpress.org so I can customize my site and make it look more professional. Have you thought of doing this? I am wondering if it is worth it. I don’t know how .com doesn’t allow you the flexibility. We can’t use google analytics or ads even if we wanted to give it a try.
I’m glad you mentioned that. Do you think it cost money to switch over? I recently switched from blogger and honestly this new site is exciting but confusing so i’m reading up on it. I didn’t realize the limited flexibility with .com

Absolutely. It does cost money to have your own site, but I believe only around 10 bucks a month with GoDaddy. I am not sure what my site will turn into, but it would be nice to have it become a small income if possible. I am looking into become a certified life coach while I am in school to become an RD. I won’t be able to work full-time as a student in this program because I wasn’t born chem inclined.
