Fitness

I am not a fitness coach by any means, and won’t  pretend like i’ve got this figured out.
Some mornings I wake up with no motivation to walk or run.  No thank you!
As a mother of one very busy toddler i’m sure that between the chasing and constant up/down i’m squeezing in some type of exercise. :) Not to mention that there has to be calories burned when it comes to a love of working in the yard.

I want to be intentional about fitness in my life though.  I’ve given many excuses at different seasons of life as to why working out doesn’t fit into my days but in reality if it was a priority, i’d have made it work.   You and I have the freedom to choose from so many different fitness plans and maybe that’s the problem? Too many options! But lets enjoy the fact that we have many to choose from because i’m not a fan of running 5+ miles a day, nope, I can maybe run 1.5 miles without stopping.  I’m more of a speed walker :) . Seriously, I don’t mess around on walks!
All this to say you can choose something you will enjoy doing.

I don’t have the time or energy to spend hours in a gym, and when I go out it’s with a toddler who sometimes decides he’s not in the mood to sit for 30+ minutes so we have to expect  interruptions from time to time.  Lets give ourselves some grace but at the same time make fitness a priority in our lives.  No need to obsess over this area either.

What seems to work for me is turning my 30 minute walks into a time spent with God sometimes in thanks, other times ranting, and sometimes in silence enjoying his company, but always with music! It’s a time of worship during the week that I don’t want to miss because I decided browsing facebook was more important.

I have a board on pinterest titled ‘Health’ and i’ve pinned a few things there that may serve as some encouragement for you too.  You can go here to take a look.  There is a lot of information at our finger tips because of sites like pinterest so don’t be discouraged because you’re not doing it, take the time to browse and be encouraged at the possibility of adding something in your life that will benefit you.

Some of us, like myself! have a long ways to go with shedding extra pounds but all we need is a little willpower and a mindset that doesn’t look back at yesterdays mistakes but chooses to look forward.
In the comments i’d love to hear what works for you!

Laura
