Good to be back!

It’s good to be back!
I loved being able to rest but not writing for a week is almost painful for a writer.
All those words have to come out somewhere but I enjoyed sharing them with my Lord and basking in the quietness and not thinking about blog posts or picture shots to take.
I do hope that from time to time you’re able to do the same.

I have to admit that last night I plugged away at a new section coming to ‘Embracing This Life’ that i’m really excited about.
It was great to sit down and write a bit of my story.  I do hope it will encourage someone! I am trying to have it ready to present early this week.
As for the book, I was waiting for my husband to come back from this last underway to attempt to restore the files. It has been on hold but it may need to be re-written.

The last two weeks i’ve been making hard choices daily about weight loss.
But I feel a lot better.  So far i’ve lost about 5lbs which i’m really excited about.
It helps to see a difference when you have to trim down on food intake and tie up your tennis shoes almost daily.
I have been drinking a lot of water!
I Almost died from it too!
I would not lie to you about this!
I seriously drank so much water the other week that my insides felt like they were going to burst.
Kind of scary when you google, ‘can you drink too much water?’ and discover you can!
Thankfully the Lord spared me and decided to keep me around here a bit longer. :)

Alright, I haven’t shared this one with you yet but since summer I have had a terrible problem with my ring finger.
I don’t know the cause and need to go to the doctor but I haven’t been able to wear my wedding ring for months now.
I don’t like it one bit.
It goes through a cycle of blistering bad and then they pop and it gets dried like the above picture.
I hate going in for things like this but it’s time.
I discovered this is a common problem years after wearing rings for some.
Not fun!

I hope you’ve had a great week!
Happy Veterans Day.
So thankful for those that have served as well as the ones that do.

Welcome back! Looks like you have an allergy to the metals in your ring. Not sure what the solution will be, short of finding out what metal is mixed with the precious metal in your ring. I’m hoping it’s something not as difficult to deal with, though.

Water…very good for the body in appropriate doses. When I was pregnant with Kim, my blood pressure popped up and I’d gained a little too much weight for the doctor’s liking. He sent me home with orders to drink 10 glasses of water each day. I drank those ten 16oz. glasses faithfully and about 6 days later had dropped about 6 pounds of water weight. The doctor asked me how big those glasses were and he said that I was supposed to drink 10 EIGHT ounce glasses! Then he told me what could have happened to both me and the baby…I was a lucky woman, apparently. So yeah, there really is such a thing as too much of a good thing…who knew?!?!?

I hope restoring your computer will help you retrieve your book and other files. I have mine saved on a separate hard drive (portable drives are TOTALLY recommended these days!) and have been grateful for it, often. Even if you use an 8gig flash drive, it’s better than relying on a PC that might give you fits again in the future. I usually load up the book from my portable drive, edit the snot out of it, then save it again. It can be cumbersome, but it’s worth it in the end. The portable hard drives (350, 500 gig) are pretty inexpensive these days, so that could be an alternative, as well. Important files should be backed up regularly….especially books. ;-)

Hope you and your little G-man are managing well with your husband away. Keep hanging in there, Laura. Prayers, as always, will continue.

I was kicking myself for not saving it somewhere else, that’s the first thing they teach you in your english classes!
I laughed hearing your water story, but am glad you were okay. Seriously who knew drinking too much water could be dangerous!?

The crazy thing is I was just feeling on my finger and it seems like it’s healing? Do you think it could be from the ring being too tight and soap/water getting stuck under the ring causing that rash? I really don’t know but maybe you’re right about being allergic to the ring itself.
So good to hear from you!

Oh, it hurts my heart that you may have lost all of your writing! It’s great that you seem so positive about rewriting if necessary, but I so hope you can recover it!
And that’s SO crazy about almost drowning (is that the wrong word!?)… Thank goodness you’re ok.
Last thing- I have quite a few friends with that ring issue. Super red, aggravated skin under their wedding bands. That’s so odd!
